ResearcherID.com (via Web of Knowledge) provides a gateway for researchers to create a unique identification number that accurately connects author and publication information.
Registered authors can:
-create and manage publication lists
-calculate personal metrics from WOK data, eg H-index
-eliminate confusion over similar names
